The new $34.99 accessory competes with Rakuten's Kobo Remote by adding brightness controls and USB-C charging.
Amazon is expanding its accessory lineup with the Kindle Click, a Bluetooth page-turning remote designed to eliminate the need to touch an e-reader screen during use, as Engadget first reported. According to Engadget, the device is priced at $34.99 and is scheduled for release on October 28, though pre-orders are currently available.
The Kindle Click features two primary buttons for paging forward and backward, along with side buttons that allow users to adjust screen brightness or put the device to sleep. Unlike some competitors, the Kindle Click utilizes a USB-C port for charging. Engadget reports that the device is compatible with any Kindle model from 2024 or later, as well as Amazon's most recently launched devices.
This launch follows the November 2025 release of the Kobo Remote from Rakuten. As reported by Engadget, the Kobo Remote is priced at $29.99 on Rakuten's website, though it may cost up to $33.99 at retailers such as Amazon and $31.99 at Target. While both devices offer Bluetooth connectivity and wrist lanyards, they differ in design and power. The Kobo Remote features a 20-degree ergonomic curve and distinct concave and convex buttons to help users differentiate them by touch, whereas the Kindle Click uses two equally sized buttons. Additionally, the Kobo Remote relies on a replaceable AAA battery, while the Kindle Click is rechargeable.
