Florida-based cybersecurity startup Spur Intelligence has raised $200 million in a funding round led by Insight Partners, according to TechCrunch. Founded in 2017 by two former Defense Department engineers, the Lake Mary company provides technology designed to help enterprises separate legitimate human users from sophisticated bot traffic.
Organizations face a growing blind spot regarding the infrastructure fueling site activity. Thomas Krane of Insight Partners noted in a written statement that the proliferation of residential proxy networks, anonymization infrastructure, and criminal VPNs means organizations can see activity without understanding the systems driving it.
This investment comes as the scale of non-human traffic reaches a historic tipping point. Cloudflare founder and CEO Matthew Prince reported on X last month that agentic traffic has grown so rapidly that bots have now surpassed human traffic online for the first time in the Internet's history. While Prince previously expected the shift to occur by late 2027, then early 2027, Cloudflare's latest traffic report confirms the milestone has already been reached as of mid-2026.
