While CEO Marc Benioff claims billion-dollar demand, partner surveys suggest the AI agent platform has yet to drive meaningful bookings.

Salesforce is positioning Agentforce as a shield against the "SaaSapocalypse," promising a platform where enterprises can build and orchestrate AI agents. However, as first reported by The Register, a report from TD Cowen indicates a disconnect between corporate optimism and partner reality. TD Cowen surveyed partners across Asia, Europe, and the U.S. and found that none reported Agentforce as a driver of bookings activity.

While 33% of surveyed partners noted strong interest and trial activity, and 56% believe interest will grow as initiatives mature, the technology has yet to translate into revenue. This comes despite Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff telling analysts that annual recurring revenue for Agentforce now exceeds $1 billion. Salesforce also reported in its Q1 FY2027 results, ended April 30, that its current remaining performance obligation grew 14% year over year to $33.6 billion, citing Agentforce, Slack, and Data 360 as primary drivers.

External skepticism extends beyond the partner ecosystem. The Register reports that KeyBanc Capital Markets recently cited a CIO survey suggesting customers do not view the CRM giant's AI plan favorably. KeyBanc's report claimed that Agentforce "just isn't there" as a product and noted that enterprise data is often too incoherent to support meaningful AI work.

Internal growth metrics also show a decline; TD Cowen noted that only a third of partners are currently meeting or beating targets, down from 43% in the previous quarter.
