The league will launch its 2027 campaign on March 24, marking the earliest traditional Opening Day in history.

Major League Baseball announced its 2027 regular-season schedule on Thursday, revealing a start date that pushes the calendar further back than ever before. According to reporting from MLB and CBS Sports, the season begins Wednesday, March 24, with a single game between two teams yet to be determined, which will stream on Netflix.

Traditional Opening Day follows on Thursday, March 25, featuring 14 games. MLB notes that this is the earliest traditional Opening Day in the history of the league, excluding international or special season-openers. The first full slate of games involving all 30 teams is scheduled for Saturday, March 27.

Every club is also scheduled to play on Jackie Robinson Day (April 15), Memorial Day (May 31), Lou Gehrig Day (June 2), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (Sept. 6) and Roberto Clemente Day (Sept. 15). The regular season concludes on Sunday, Sept. 26.

Midsummer highlights include the 97th All-Star Game presented by Mastercard, which will take place at Chicago's Wrigley Field on Tuesday, July 13. Per MLB, Wrigley will be the only active stadium to host the event four times, having previously hosted in 1947, 1962, and 1990. The T-Mobile Home Run Derby will stream on Netflix on Monday, July 12.

The second half of the season kicks off Thursday, July 15, with a standalone game on ESPN, marking the start of "Rivalry Weekend," which features 11 interleague rival series and four regional matchups.
